North Gauhati College offers the following courses:

i) Two year Higher Secondary Course in Arts and Science.

ii) Three year Degree Course in Arts and Science.

v     Subjects offered in H.S. classes:

1.      Arts: English, MIL (Assamese/ Alternative English), Anthropology, Economics, Education, Geography, Political Science, History, Advance Assamese, Mathamatics.

2.      Science: English, MIL (Assamese/ Alternative English), Physics/Anthropology, /Chemistry/Geography, Mathematics and Biology.

(English and MIL are compulsory. A candidate has to choose 3 (three) Elective Subjects, with an option to take another 4th subject if desired.)

v     Subjects offered in Degree courses:

(i) Arts: English, MIL (Assamese/ Alternative English), Anthropology, Economics, Education, Geography, Political Science, History, Assamese Second Language And Mathematics.

(English and MIL are compulsory. A candidate has to choose 2 (two) Elective Subjects.)

(ii) Science: English, Physics,/Anthropology, Chemistry/Geography Mathematics/ Zoology, Botany, Electronics.

(English is compulsory. A candidate has to choose 3 (three) Elective subsidiary Subjects.)

v     For Major Course:

(i) Arts: A Candidate is allowed to take up Major in one of the elective subjects form English, Assamese, Education, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Mathematics and Anthropology.

(ii) Science: A candidate is allowed to take up Major in one of the elective subjects form Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Geography and Anthropology.

Note: Environmental Studies is compulsory for all students of TDC Part II (Science and Arts)
