Great emphasis is laid on discipline and
character building. Students are expected to maintain
a high standard of discipline. There will be one
discipline committee to look into it.

The students admitted to the college
must abide by all rules and regulations as prescribed
by the college authority. Violation of rules,
uncertainty progress, irregular attendance, irregular
clearance of college and hostel fees, showing
discourtesy to the teacher and staff members in any
forms, adoption of unfair means during examination
etc. are some of the offences which may make
termination of scholarship, issue of forced transfer
certificate and even expulsion from the college.

All forms of rigging in the college
campus are prohibited. Strong disciplinary action as
indicated in (ii) above may be taken if any one is
found to be involved directly or indirectly in
rigging.

The courses of studies in
North
Gauhati
College
are full time courses. No student can take any other
full time course simultaneously in and outside the
institution.
·
Students’ societies and associations
shall have to abide by the rules and regulations as
the college administration may prescribe from time to
time.
·
Only those societies and associations
recognized by the Head of the institution shall have
the facilities of the college premises.
·
Any notice desired to be pasted or
circulated by the students any where in the college
will need the prior approval of the college authority.
·
All powers of maintaining discipline are
vested with the Head of the institution and his / her
decision shall be final in all such mattes.

Attendance Rules:
75% attendance in all classes is
compulsory for students to appear in the Final
Examinations.

Examination Rules:
There is an Examination Cell in the college to
conduct all types of examination held in college. The
Examination Cell strictly adheres to the college
examination and promotion rules. There will be two
Unit Test Examinations. The first one is held in first
part of September and the second in the last part of
November for all classes. It will be followed by a
pre-final examination and the cumulative marks will
decide the result of the examination. A student unable
to appear in an examination on medical ground must
submit application along with medical certificate
prior to the examinations or at the time examination.
Students having practical subjects shall have to
appear in their Internal Assessment test-positively.

College Uniform:
To maintain discipline in the campus, the college
administration has introduced formal dress code for
students. The dress code is as follows:
For boys: Trouser (Full pant) and Shirt of the
prescribed color and design.
For girls: Salwar Kameej with Dupatta or prescribed
color and design. (Samples of clothes will be shown
and the students have to purchase from the market.)

College Transfer Certificate:
Any student seeking transfer from the college will
have to apply to the Principal for transfer
certificate. The following documents must accompany
the application.

Clearance certificate from the college
office
·
Clearance certificate from the
librarian.
·
Clearance certificate from
Vice-Principal, athletic/cultural section, N.G.C.S.U.
(in case of office bearer of N.G.C.S.U.)
·
Records of percentage of attendance duly
signed by the Head of the department concerned.
·
Certificate of the convenor of the
Admission Committee regarding the surrender of the
college identity cards.
·
Clearance Certificate from the Head of
the departments concerned in case of a Major student.
